  • Our Topic this half term is: Rivers
    We will be learning how to:
    • Use figurative language in writing
    • Write a non-chronological report
    • Write biographies and autobiographies
    • Use a wide range of punctuation, including semi colons.
    • Use a range of sentence types.
    • Name, draw, measure and identify angles.
    • Calculate areas and perimeters, including missing lengths.
    • Use new methods to multiply and divide.
    • Add, subtract and multiply fractions.
    • Convert fractions, decimals and percentages.
    We will be learning about:
    • Classic poetry
    • Shakespeare’s play ‘The Tempest’
    • States of matter
    • The water cycle
    • Animals including humans
    • Jesus’s teachings
    • Heroes and heroines
    • Influential musicians and composers
    • Stories with issues (Journey to the River Sea)
    • Number, measure, geometry and statistics
    PE Information:

    PE is on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Please ensure your child has their PE Kit in school each day, including trainers for outdoor PE lessons. Friday sessions will always take place outside, children are welcome to bring warmer sports clothing during the colder weeks.

    Notes from class teacher:

    Our computing lessons this half term will take place at The King’s High School. Children will be learning about programming and coding.

    Homework is given out on a Friday and needs to be returned by the following Thursday. Spellings are given out on Fridays and will be tested each Thursday.

    Please could you make sure that you check and sign your child’s planner each week. These will be collected in and checked once a week.

    Please encourage your child to read at least three times a week and discuss what they have read with an adult.
